https://discord.gg/astrildmodsHi friends, I saw a lot of people paying extremely much for something extremely simple, which is making me sad. All you need is TT and Blender to create some elf ears out of your regular (Hyur) ears!
I've made sure to screencast my keybindings, so you can follow along easier. I've purposely avoided using any weird (custom) shortcuts or addons, so you can do it all with a 'vanilla' Blender install. (Enjoy my Payday 2 music btw)
https://www.blender.org/https://github.com/TexTools/FFXIV_TexTools_UI/releasesIn the zip file you will find 2 short videos (1:30 & 0:20 secondish long), pictures of the settings for your Blender export and the same text instructions are here below. If you find it sketchy to download random zip files for some reason, I've got them uploaded on my Discord in the Guides section too.
Needed Blender, TexttoolsStep 1: Export your face out of Textools as FBX
Step 2: Import as FBX into Blender
Step 3: Watch Videos (I forgot to show how to apply the mirror on the ears, hence the second one), try to follow along and adjust your ears as desired. If you have in depth questions why I'm doing XYZ, feel free to ask me.
(Tldr for experienced modders: Delete one side, add mirror, clear sharp, merge by distance 0.001, hide the seam vertices so you can vert drag to desired shape, recalculate normals, yeet the shapekeys (or use the addon for it to ignore the error message and just apply it anyhow https://github.com/smokejohn/SKkeeper), apply mirror, export with correct settings)PS: the big selection tool shortcut is O, I forgot to record that too :^)
Step 4: EXPORTING FROM BLENDER READ BELOWWhen Exporting as FBX in Blender you need to do the following in your export settings
Add leaf bones under Armature and this must be untoggled.
Most importantly we want to untoggle add modifiers under geometry. We want to export the shape keys. Make sure to untoggle add modifiers, or else your face will get fucked, and end up broken in the game.
Step 5: You can now pack your face as a TTMP2 or PMP Mod.
Step 6: You've not spend $$$ on something which you can totally do yourself!
PS: You could fiddle a bit with the UV if you want the ears to look a bit different, but I didn't record any of that, but Google has tons of guides on how to access the UV in Blender.
While I'm a bit busy with other mod related stuff atm, feel free to hop in my Discord or DMs if you need help!
