Did you know that the M Highlander faces' eye materials are set to have greyer sclera and thin black limbal rings around their irises at all times? I certainly didn't, until I started working on eye mods. While I see what the devs were going for with these features, to give the Highlanders an imposing look and shadowed, deep-set eyes, I'm sure some folks don't really care for that look on their Highlanders and would prefer a lighter base for their eyes.
This mod does just thatโ a simple eye material edit for all four M Highlander player faces to lighten the grey sclera, and remove the permanent limbal ring from around the iris. This gives them a brighter, more anime-stylized look like many of the other playable races.
This mod should work fine with existing eye texture mods and other face mods as long as no custom unique texture paths are being used for the eye material. It may conflict with mods that give the eye a "wet" look if they are material edits to the eye sphere map.
If you'd like to set up these edits on your Highlander's eye material without having a separate mod for it, you can replicate it by editing your eye material's constants. Set the field labeled "g_DiffuseColor" to a value HIGHER than pure white (I used a value of R 1.4 G 1.4 B 1.4 for these) to lighten the sclera. To remove the limbal ring, find the field labeled "g_IrisRingForceColor" and set it to R 0 G 0 B 0.
You can use these eye materials as a base to set up eye glow if you have glow-supporting eye textures (they must have some data on the red channel of the eye mask texture). Simply find the field "g_EmissiveColor" in the material constants and set it to the glow color of your liking.
