Author's Comments:
This is the Ithaca model of 1937 Shotgun.
The Ithaca M37 was a direct competitor to the popular and well-renowned Winchester M1912 (further development of the M1897) design. It featured a bottom loading and ejection port, making it slightly less susceptible to the elements, or so it was intended at least.
It saw plenty of use with law enforcement, and served the US military in WW2, Korea and Vietnam where it gained a reputation as a reliable and powerful shotgun for use in the dense jungle terrain at close range. Both the LAPD and NYPD have been depicted many times in movies and shows carrying the M37, and it has made an appearance in video games such as Blood Rayne, Resident Evil 5, and Metal Gear Solid 3!
Please enjoy it!
