There are many ways to design a pair of shorts. Our WoL/D, in a strange vision, saw a form that he instantly gravitated towards - part of a uniform of sorts from a adrenaline-filled sport in a strange world where they compete against one another in teams, throwing and kicking around an oval shaped ball, and ramming into each other with forces that can break bones.

The moonfire trunks instantly went under the needle and scissors - shortened and broadened to give greater freedom of movement to he who exercises vigorously.

Note: Minor clipping with very long boots (which you should not be wearing anyways - fashion disaster!)
Note 2: Gear affects Hrothgars as well but size proportions will be different due to in-game racial scaling - Hrothgars will see less gains :(
