7.1 Compatible mod inspired by Scions of the Melanin Dawn! Same concept, but different takes on the characters. Will be updated with more characters and more skin tone options in the future!
Working on bug fixes for 7.2!
This is a 7.1 compatible mod that is inspired by Scions of the Melanin Dawn!
I am not affiliated with the original creators whatsoever. Just someone who loves the mod and wanted to make a compatible version for 7.0.
There are plans for a future update with more characters and various skin tone options! Some characters that are missing that are in the original SotMD mod will be added then as well. Please download if you got the file one 8/26!
This was made using Penumbra so it may work strangely in TexTools.
Just like the original mod, there will be some wonkiness from the way the mod is made, which is through adjusting textures and metadata.
If you try to put edited character in different clothes using posing tools, they will most likely look broken.
Known issues are as followed:
Some of the Twins alternative ARR outfits that they show up in once or twice are broken. (Currently unfixable.)
Urianger has some strange seams for a HW outfit. (Currently unfixable.)
Minfila's feet glitch in an alt outfit. (A work in progress.)
Aymeric's wrists are gone in cutscenes from the quest "Promises Kept." (Currently unfixable.)
Certain Eden bosses haven't had their skin changed. (A work in progress.)
A certain SHB boss haven't had their skin changed. (A work in progress.)
Certain Scion's alternative clothes in Shadowbringers is slightly broken.
Thancred scruff option has been removed for now.
It is highly recommended that you set up a new collection for this mod and either NPC group assign them (the easiest) or individually
assign characters to the collection, manually adding in every NPC you want affected by it (the hardest.)
There are characters like Yda, Urianger, The Twins, the Emissary, 2P, and Alayla (do not look her up if you haven't finished Dawntrail MSQ)
who will impact other NPCs due to certain textures that had to be changed for them. So if you can deal with seeing some odd textures
on other NPCs here and there, then please still NPC group assign them.
To make a collection, check out this guide for creating one:
https://reniguide.carrd.co/#collections and when it comes to the selection, chose to the 'I like to specify' option if you want to learn about individual assignments. You can use the NPC Group assignment if you don't mind the warned odd textures seen on other NPCs that aren't intentionally included.
If using individual assignment, Penumbra says that some characters have both Battle and Event NPC models so I recommend getting both set up for the character. This is a more tedious option and recommended for people who have finished based Dawntrail, as you would need to type in characters who could be a spoiler. I'll be working on a list of all the names you need for the individual assignment that will be posted on my Twitter.
If there are any problems, either with getting it set up or problems with the mod itself, or if you want to suggest characters, reach out to
me on Blue Sky at @chocoboobo.bsky.social.
