"Gordy's gone, Man"
The CAR-15 is essentially the predecessor to the M4A1 carbine, featuring a significantly shorter barrel than the M16 service rifle. It first saw use in Vietnam as a shorter, more compact option popular with vehicle crews and was particularly favoured by MACV-SOG.
It continued to see service up until the Gulf War as it was eventually superseded by the M4 carbine. Two of the greatest depictions of the CAR-15 in cinema is in Ridley Scott's 2001 Black Hawk Down and Edward Zwick's 2006 Blood Diamond.
This one here isn't entirely up to spec with how it is depicted in the films mentioned above, but it has that nice retro feel to it anyway!
