When comfort becomes luxury and the future becomes clouded by dread, there are those who center themselves by living day to day. They brave the badlands, be it the Burn or the bleached earth of the First, still radiating toxic Light. Some seek treasures in sands, others knowledge from eras lost. It could never be mistaken for a good life, but with enough grit, you can make sandcastles out of ash.
