SceneKeeper is a lightweight, roleplay scene assistant for FFXIV, built to help writers keep active scenes organized, readable, and easy to revisit.

Whether you are writing in a busy venue, hosting a companion session, managing a group scene, or tracking a long-term story arc, SceneKeeper gives you a cleaner workspace for your RP.


✦ Features

Scene Tracking
- Track your current scene title, tags, notes, partners, pinned lines, and follow-up tasks.
- Save important scenes to History and revisit them later.
- Export scene information in Markdown for journals, recaps, Discord posts, Carrd pages, or personal archives.

Partner Tools
- Add scene partners from captured chat, current target, or right-click context menu.
- Track whether partners are nearby.
- Add partner notes, relationship/context details, tags, and custom colors.
- Use optional soft visual markers and highlights to identify tracked partners in crowded spaces.

Captured Chat
- Capture selected RP chat types.
- Filter by all chat, scene partners only, scene partners + yourself, or pinned lines.
- Search by sender, message, or chat type.
- Pin important dialogue.
- Copy selected chat normally or as Markdown.
- Add senders as scene partners directly from captured chat.

Scene Builder
- Draft up to five RP paragraphs inside SceneKeeper.
- Each paragraph is hard-limited to 350 characters.
- Use the Guided Queue to copy each paragraph one at a time.
- Includes Copy Next, Copy All, Clear Builder, and Panic Stop.
- Helpful for players who normally write longer posts in Notepad, Discord, or another external editor.

Spell Check
- Check Scene Builder paragraphs before posting.
- View suggested replacements.
- Ignore words or add custom words to your local dictionary.
- Useful for character names, FFXIV terms, locations, and venue names.

Follow-Up Tasks
- Add tasks for scene continuity.
- Track what needs to happen next.
- Manually share task payloads with other players if desired.
- Imported tasks merge locally using scene share codes and timestamps.


✦ Installation
SceneKeeper is distributed through a custom Dalamud repository.

To install:
1. Open Dalamud settings.
2. Go to the Experimental tab.
3. Add the custom repository URL.
4. Save and close settings.
5. Open the plugin installer.
6. Search for SceneKeeper.
7. Install and enable.

✦ Notes
SceneKeeper is designed as a local-first roleplay organization tool.
- Scene notes are stored locally.
- Partner lists are stored locally.
- Scene history is stored locally.
- Captured chat is handled locally.
- Scene Builder text is handled locally.
- No analytics.
- No remote logging.

✦ Possible future additions may include:
- Optional PlayerSync synced follow-up tasks
- Improved task sharing between SceneKeeper users
- More export templates
- More scene recap tools
- Additional history filters
- Expanded partner/context tools
- More customization for markers and captured chat display
PlayerSync is not currently required and is not needed for SceneKeeper to function.
