Dragonborn is a fuller-coverage scale mod originally developed for personal use that was formerly released during Endwalker, and has now been updated and tweaked to work with the DVU (Dawntrail Visual Update).

PATCH NOTES:
→ The neck seam has been repainted to mitigate its visibility. Old scale recolours are only partially compatible; their use will make your neck seam more visible and the normals/masks won’t line up.
→ New colours added. There’s 9 total colours (10, if you count Bloodmoon on Raen AND Xaela) - Raen Legacy, Raen Dawntrail, Bone White, Pure White, Ivory, Xaela Blue, Grey Legacy, Grey (new), Vanilla Black, True Black, and Bloodmoon.
Note: Bone White is close to our old Universal White, and based on Yuria’s Scale Kit. True White is based on WestLakeTea’s white scale gradient. Vanilla Black is based on the black that vanilla Xaela Males use.
→ Black Sclera is no longer available as an option. It’s not connected to the diffuse, but there’s plenty of mods out there if you want it ♥
→ Four shine options. Note that visibility of effects will depend on lighting and scale colour. Works best on darker shades.
IMPORTANT NOTE: due to the nature of this mod, there’s some fine seams where… well, where there’s seams. we’ve done our best to mitigate this and generally speaking, you shouldn’t be able to see them unless you’re REALLY LOOKING.
Xaela still kinda have that dark outline from the original - mostly on very dark, saturated skintones. It’s especially visible on Gen 3, for whatever reason, but IMHO it doesn’t really take away from the mod.
The scales DO tint with skin colour - this is most evident on lighter shades. Subsurf should be working for all colours.

→ This mod was made for Bibo+ 3.1.0. File path names have changed for Dawntrail with Bibo - rendering older versions of it incompatible.
→ INSTALLER IS AU RA SPECIFIC. The scaleless neck files are included in the Devkit, along with a Universal Neck Seam PSD - with the new UVs, a continued neck seam should be possible on all races but Hroth. In our limited testing, it works fine. (Roe might be a little fussy but ehhhhhh)
→ PSD for scaleless faces included in Devkit. The neck seam and horn/scale toggles are included in the overlays; the vanilla neckseam is, as ever, not compatible. It makes us so sad seeing the hard neck seam so we added in compatibility for sculpt creators/users.
→ This mod is Gen3 compatible. We won’t lie to you, the Gen3 layout isn’t perfect, but it is functional! As this mod was not intended for Gen 3, we do not offer troubleshooting, but the layout exists.

→ DO NOT paywall recolours or edits using our assets. THIS INCLUDES BOOSTER PERKS, PATREON BONUSES, ETC. These are still paywalls and are not permitted. If you are using our base assets (even if you’ve edited them slightly) and you are not being privately commissioned, it must be free.
→ You are welcome to privately commission an edit (or edit our work on a commission basis, if you are a creator), but if the edit is released to users beyond the commissioner, it MUST remain free.
