This is the first tattoo I'm releasing. It comes with heart shaped nipples, courtesy of Renn (https://www.xivmodarchive.com/modid/80525).
It's a typical tattoo layout (Half sleeves, Chest and Half legs) that I hope will bring joy and happiness in your life, and it's also full of symbolic meaning:
Arms:
The Heron is commonly associated with meanings of hope and protection.
Carps or Koi Fishes typically symbolizes strength, perseverance, and good fortune in Japanese culture. In traditional Japanese folklore, koi fish are known for their ability to swim upstream and overcome obstacles, representing resilience and determination.
Sides:
Here we can find two samurais fighting a frog and a rat.
The word “Kaeru” or frog in Japanese means return, which is why the frog is considered a lucky animal in Japan.
There is good fortune in things returning. They are linked to things or people returning to a place or origin.
Rats are regarded as auspicious creatures associated with industry and intelligence and were once messengers for one of the seven gods of good luck. The Japanese also see rats as symbols of wealth since most are only present when food is abundant.
Chest:
The chest and breast area is filled with a Samurai, also known as Mempo, surrounded by two short Katanas (Wakizashi). It represents warrior spirits, taking on or overcoming challenges in their own lives.
Thighs:
Tigers are often seen paired with dragons. In this circumstance, the Tiger typically symbolizes
the negative attributes such as sickness and misfortune while the Dragon symbolizes the positive such as good health, luck and prosperity.
Overall:
Across the whole tattoo you will find a multitude of flowers like Peonies, Cherry Blossoms and Lotus Flowers.
The beauty, elegance and resilience of the peony have earned it the title of queen of flowers.
A common flower, much used in arts and crafts, the peony features in the language of flowers, Ikebana, and it stands for good fortune, beauty and courage.
Cherry blossoms or sakura represent beauty and the fragility of life.
The lotus flower represents purity, an exquisite flower emerging from a murky pond. It can also symbolise truth, faith, harmony and a spiritual awakening.
