Update 1.1.0: Created new, higher contrasting borders. This hopefully makes things even easier to distinguish!
[To use with Penumbra, create a new Collection with the Interface assignment, and activate this mod in that collection.]
Adds a colored border to every Blue Mage action, designating its use for DPS (red), for Tanking (blue), for Healing (green), or as general Utility (yellow). Currently only for the "High" UI Resolution setting, but I've included the raw files in the mod if someone else wants to see about downscaling it.
A lot of actions I have designated as DPS actions despite them having additional utility effects. This is because most of them just feel like they have that utility as a little bonus. For example, regarding spells that stun:
Bomb Toss and Tatami-Gaeshi are DPS actions and Faze is a Utility action despite all of them doing a stun, because Faze's main use is its stun. Perpetual Ray is also Utility because its stun ignores resistance. Sticky Tongue stuns, but because of its increased enmity effect I just went with vibes and designated it a Tanking action.
The Look is a Tanking action because of its increased enmity.
Bad Breath is a Utility action because despite putting a DoT on enemies, its main use is its damage-down effect.
Ram's Voice is a Utility action, but Dragon's Voice is a DPS action. Dragon's Voice doesn't have much use since Ultravibration exists but the use it does have is just to do damage, not the 9-second paralysis.
Missile is a DPS action, but other instant-death related things are Utility. This is another case of just going off of vibes. Missile does big damage so it's DPS. Same with Launcher and Dimensional Shift.
Mind Blast is Utility instead of DPS like some other paralysis spells because its paralysis lasts a whole 30 seconds. Same with Abyssal Transfixtion.
Exuviation is Healing despite anyone being able to use it simply because of the cure potency bonus when you're a Healer mimic. This is another vibes thing.
Tingle is Utility instead of DPS because you use it for its potency boost, not for its damage.
Right Round is Utility. I guess. Sort of wanted to give this the grey PVP-action border for fun.
Deep Clean is a Healing action. This one is weird but ultimately the reason they want you to use it is to get a heal, so vibing the designation here.
So, a chunk of these are up to personal interpretation, and your idea of what should be under what designation could be different, which is totally fine. In reality I made this because I was getting tired of forgetting which buttons were for mitigation when I was playing a tank mimic (I kept dropping Devour. Maybe not anymore!) Hopefully it helps someone else who's just picked up Blue Mage with the latest patch and wants an easier time with knowing what their spells do at a glance.
