Do you wish you could sleep anywhere, anytime? Are you afraid that Square Enix might ban you for using Cheat Engine, even though you're already breaking their user agreement by modding your game? Well fear not, with this mod you can finally get some shut-eye, even when you're away from your comfy bed!

Q: You know Mittens already made a mod for this, right?
A: Yeah, but, their mod only caters to Au Ra and Miqo'te. This mod uses the default sleeping animations found in-game, imported into the groundsit poses. This means any race can use it! Mittens did a great job with their custom animations, though, so if you play an Au Ra or a Miqo'te, I wholeheartedly recommend you download it from here: https://www.xivmodarchive.com/modid/87311
Q: How did you make this mod?
A: Well first I tried to do basic import/export of the .pap's and .tmb's, but that didn't work, so I had to unpack the .fbx's using XAT and then repack them into the groundsit emote .pap, before importing it into the groundsit paths. Since every race uses different animations, I had to do this for every single one. Feel free to open the mod in Penumbra in-game to see how many files and paths I had to keep track of while manually editing them. I won't deny I botched it repeatedly.
Q: What if I want my character to sit down?
A: It retains one groundsit animation due to the animation count, but if you want your character to use a different pose, you can enable and disable the mod at will in Penumbra.
Q: You do realize people aren't going to use this for sleeping, right?
A: Yeah? I don't care.
Q: How come you excluded Lalafell?
A: Actually, I take back what I said. I care a little, and since Lalafell players only have one conceivable use for this, I'm not going to accommodate it.
Q: But what if my Lalafell gets injured in a roleplay and I want them to fall unconscious? :(
A: I'm sorry, but thanks to a disgusting minority of people we can't have nice things. Use the play dead emote.
Q: How come the characters open their eyes during the animation transition?
A: It does that during the normal /doze in bed, too. It's probably just REM sleep.
Q: Wouldn't you make a lot of money if you made this mod paid?
A: Probably, but there's a special section of Hell dedicated to people who try to sell mods. Taking donations and commissions is a different matter, though.
Q: Isn't that a double standard?
A: Some might see it that way. I think there's nuance between selling something knowing there is a demand for it, and agreeing to take the time to make something for someone who reached out to ask for it.
Q: Will you update this when Hrothgar women come out?
A: Probably!
Known Issues:
• The animation transition is a little janky due to the groundsit emote having more animations than the sleeping emote. Cannot be fixed without adding a custom fourth sleep emote, or adding an emote transition into the seated emote. Given my track record with custom animations, I have no plans to fix this.
• Some races and genders may occasionally open their eyes in some poses. All attempts to fix this have failed, but it's probably just REM sleep.
