Squenix for vanilla assets
Author's Comments:
A vanilla-style eye mod using textures taken directly from Menphina's model. They support glow, though the glow material is not built into the modpack.
The modpack is configured to work for all races and genders EXCEPT Hrothgar. They technically do work for Lalafell, but the texture stretching present on Lala eyes makes it a bit difficult to see the gradient. Faces with prominent upper-eyelid shadowing might also make it harder to see the gradient.
The modpack has a few options for colors, including:
-An option to use the exact same eye color/texture as Menphina. This disables player eye color influence.
-Six options that fade the player eye color (BOTTOM of the eye) with a predetermined second color (TOP of the eye). This allows for eyes with two different iris colors. The built-in top colors include Black, Indigo, Pinkish, Blueish, Green, and Orange. If you'd like to have a custom fade color for the top of the eye, I've also included raw files for doing so in the Extra Files section of the Heliosphere page.
-An option to use the very smooth, simple normal map, also taken from Menphina's texture, alongside the eye color edits. You can also use just the normal map on its own if you'd like.
I highly suggest playing with your character's iris material to achieve the desired color effects with these eyes. The Menphina blue eyes in the preview image have glow added (#6D7075), and the purple eyes do not have glow. The orange eyes have glow (#7B5E2D), and also have their "g_IrisOptionColorRate" constant adjusted (set to -7)*. Different combinations of player eye color, glow color, and iris color rate will produce different effects. Darker player eye colors can especially benefit from tweaking the iris color rate.
*If you have the Material Development Kit addon for Penumbra, "g_IrisOptionColorRate" is renamed to "Iris Feature Color Rate" and will be displayed as percentages instead. So with the devkit, instead of using -7, you would use -700%.
If you are playing male Highlander and have an unwanted black halo around your iris, you can edit your iris .mtrl file and set "g_IrisRingForceColor" (or "Limbal Force Color" with the material devkit addon) to R 0 G 0 B 0, aka pure black. This will remove the forced limbal ring.
These specific previews are taken without any ReShade filters.
